Live Your Dream!

Mark Twain said that “The two most important days in life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”  Sometimes we struggle to find our purpose in life. It’s not an uncommon occurrence.  We struggle with the why am I here question and truth be told it is sometimes not an easy question to find the answer to.

You Can Have Whatever You Want If…

During the course of our lives, we have all set goals. Whether it be to obtain an educational degree, save more money, find a better job, lose weight, gain weight, purchase a home, go on vacation, or purchase a new car, we all have goals we either want or wanted to achieve. Tony Robbins reminds us that “Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.” Pay close attention to this statement. Setting a goal won’t make it a reality. It is only the first step.  While setting a goal is a step in the right direction there are many more steps to making the goal attainable.

One Person Can Connect You and Your Destiny

The major turning point in my life was when I started being mentored by a business executive.  Have you ever been to the place where you thought life was not worth living and you found it hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel?  I’ve been there.  Sometimes life knocks us down repeatedly and we don’t know what to do about it.  My mentorship was the single most important factor in my transformation.  My mentor saw my potential. Not only did he see my potential; he worked diligently along with me to reframe my thoughts and to develop my talent and skills.  The truth is had it not been for this mentorship, I have no idea of where I would be today.

Do You Have A Teachable Spirit?

The major turning point in my life was when I aligned myself with my mentor.  My mentor saw my potential and realized I didn’t fully understand my talent.  I’m sure you have someone in your life that has at some point or another told you there was something special about a skill or talent you had.  Did you listen?  When my mentor first told me his observations, I was in disbelief.  I could not believe that the person he was talking about was me.  He took a chance on me and challenged me.  I was already at rock bottom and decide to take a chance on him.  I thought to myself “how much worse could it possibly get?” I’m forever grateful that my mentor approached me, coached me and made me see how limitless my possibilities are.

Are You Willing To Be Inconvenienced?

“Nelson Mandela – was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician, and philanthropist, who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. In 1962, he was arrested, convicted of conspiracy to overthrow the state, and sentenced to life imprisonment in the Rivonia Trial. Mandela served 27 years in prison. An international campaign lobbied for his release, which was granted in 1990 amid escalating civil strife. He was the country’s first black chief executive, and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election. His government focused on dismantling the legacy of apartheid through tackling institutionalized racism and fostering racial reconciliation.”

Are You A Lone Ranger?

Mother Teresa was a dream chaser of mammoth proportions! She had a goal of changing the world and with purpose in her heart and a belief in her vision; she set about doing just that.  Mother Teresa’s story though, is a clear example of how building a team and collaborating with others plays a major role in a dream chaser’s success. Mother Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic religious congregation, which in 2012 consisted of over 4,500 sisters and was active in 133 countries. They run hospices and homes for people with HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis; soup kitchens; dispensaries and mobile clinics; children's and family counseling programmes; orphanages; and schools.”

Unhappy?

Unhappy!  That’s the adjective I’d use to describe it.  It’s the feeling you get when you realize you are working at a job, in a position, that’s draining the life out of you.  There are many reasons people experience this sense of despair:
